Need Glove Recommendations

The Big Shot has a double layer of nylon positioned to protect the 1st joint of the middle finger.

Don't know if it makes a difference but the pain is in the fingertip pad itself. Not sharp, but more like a bruise. I've never had this problem before, but yet I have never shot this much either. I have a nice callus forming and the pain is behind the callus closer to the joint.

I'll count back thru this thread and tally the votes so far.

My sessions have been almost marathon. Shooting as much as I can before dark. to the point my arms are giving out before my fingers were. THis AM I only got in the 12 shots and the finger hurt enough it was making my shots go everywhere due to flinch and anticipation of the pain.

Keep the opinions coming. I'll be researching these in the mean time.

I shoot a big shot by American Leathers, and I too was getting finger pain, except mine was on my pointer finger where it contacted the arrow/nock point.  I switched over to 3 under instead of split finger, and all my pain went away...well I can't say it all went away, my wife's still here.

I've been using the Dura-Glove and like it, but I don't shoot as much as you are. Over the winter I got a Crossover Big Shot from Big Jim, and though I haven't broken it in yet I can tell I'll like it. Nice and thick and very slick. Due to the amount of shooting you are doing per session I expect you'll need a thick glove. I'd try the Big Shot.

Yeah, I think for me right now the thicker the better. That American Leathers Big Shot looks good. So does their Tuff Shot.

As you can see, there are a lot of preferences.  I shoot a Big Shot (have two).

Give John at American Leathers a call or email about your condition.  He is a great guy and has a lot of experience.

I liked the Grizzly Leather Woverine "SS" glove.  Very smooth and seems long lasting for me.  You can get them from Braveheart Archery.

I usually get a large. Mediums have always been too snug. XL is a gamble. Good thing about leather is it will stretch some if necessary.

I had problems with my middle finger at the first joint. got me one of the super gloves and finger is getting better.

Another vote here for the Big Shot. Never had any pain in my index or middle finger. Shoot split finger. The only pain I have had is my ring finger and I fixed that by lowering my string arm elbow slightly.

I love the super glove and have recently added cut fingers from a batting glove to the inside of the middle and ring finger by gluing them in. I love it. Makes shooting heavier weights more enjoyable and that release that seems subconscious.

I've been using the same American Leathers Full Shot for 5 years.  Just bought a new one a few weeks ago because my dog got a hold of it.

The nylon starts out a bit stiff, but after about a week of break-in, it's good to go.  Never had a pain issue.

Big Shot and Full Shot are a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

I have 4 or 5 of the AK Bowhunting Superglaves stashed around. I have never worn one out, (my oldest is 10+ yrs) but like to have a broke in spare around when I misplace them. My latest one says bearpaw germany, go figure. The cordovan tips are thick and really protect your fingers and just gets slicker with use so you get a nice clean release.

Black Widow Super glove is great for sore finger prevention. I have used them all and this is by far the best protection.
