Like others have said, they are two different bows.  Since you have had a Hill you gotta try a Mohawk.  Smooth as butter, zero shock and quiet.

Good luck and have fun!  Eric.

I really appreciate  all the great advise !!  The Hill I had was a cheetah made for me back in the '90's shot it like a dream . Do not know why I ever sold it? OH I know, to finance my "last" Jim Reynolds Ram horn recurve. With all the comments I think  Rob may be correct, I have to make this my "LAST TWO" bows .

wow Eric, those are very beautiful bows. I need a Straight handle though. Vince said he can do one but I have not seen any example 's with .

Lamey

although this is not a "straight" handle, it is more than alot of other Mohawks, probably the closest your going to see in a photo here to a straight handle 'hawk.

For the specs listed I would go with a Mohawk or a Robertson or a Northern Mist..

Yeah, me too. I have my last bow on order right now. It's a new Mohawk. And it will be my last bow, at least until I give in to order another one. I have actually been selling some, Although it is usually to finance a new one. I'm down to about 11 or 12 longbows now.

Lamey, thanks for the almost straight handle pic. I am kind of kicking myself for not stealing the mohawk from you at that price. But then again there is just something about straight grips that works for me. I think it helps me push into the bow when drawing and it feels very comfortable and sturdy.

vince can and will shape a dead straight "hill handle", if that's yer preference.  but it won't be a hill, that's for sure.    :)

be aware of bow length versus draw length, this is very important.  a good comparison of bow length/draw length for each bow type ...

'hawks - 60"/26"-27", 62"/27"-29", 64"/28"-29", 66"/29"-30", 68"/29"-31"
 hills- 64"/26", 66"/27", 68"/28", 70"/28"-31"

in terms of smoothness of draw for my 29" draw length, my tembo is 70" and my #1 'hawk is 62" - both draw super smooth.  going any lower in bow length for either bows would, and do, make for a far less smoother draw.

I'll stir the pot. Why not try a Liberty by Allen Boice?

Between the two, I'd say neither and would opt for an Apex Predator Sapelo. But then again, that's just me. lol

The only "last bow" you will ever own will be the bow you got before the new one you just ordered.  :)

Mudd

I think I can be fairly certain that my last bow will be the one that I bought or traded for just before they start throwing dirt on my casket.

God bless,Mudd
