Bear weather rest problem
«
on:

Picked up a Bear TD Hunter awhile back. I have always shot off the shelf, but this bow came with a weather rest already on it. So I thought I would try it out.. Seems pretty good so far, although winter keeps getting in the way. So I don't if it's the cold or what but when I draw the bow, the cedar arrow screeches across the rest like fingernails on a blackboard. Anyone have a similar experience and/ or solution!?

I've always covered mine with moleskin- cover the side plate and the finger.

A little pure food grade silicone on it and the shaft will work.

I use the CirCut brand teflon tape they sell eliminates all sound and screeching.

I've tried them on several bows, but not outdoors in cold weather. I've never noticed any sound at all with mine. I'm using carbon arrows. Are your arrows aluminum?
I test-drove a bow from Schafer last summer before I ordered one. It came with a Weather Rest mole-skinned like the one in your picture.
