I have a dumb question. Are the snake skins i see on a lot of the bows on here are they real or a sticker, if real how in the world are they mounted on to stick to the limb. I can't see ruining a limb using a glue.

yes they are real skins, and the glue doesn't affect the limb very much, if at all.

Most of what you see is real and glued on. I've got some skins but I haven't had the heart yet to cover up the pretty wood,lol.....

Laminated limbs are glued up any way so it's not gonna hurt a thing.

They are real. I glue them on using Titebond III.
Doesn't ruin the limb, it dresses them up  :bigsmyl:

I am having some of nature's best camo glued on some limbs as I write this.

My opinion is the effect on performance is negligible, and the asthetics can be just as effective as stunning.

I am a snake skin fanatic. Done over 100 bows, as much as I love exotic veneers....skins rule.

Sand the limbs

Clean limb then put on titebond 3

After the skin soaks in water apply to limb

Let sit 24-48 hours trim edges and use a little superglue to hit any lifted spots and ready.

After the skin is set in place, wrap in gauze to hold tight to limb but this still allows air to still get in.   The limbs in the pics above where glued on Saturday afternoon.  The gauze is off now but will wait another day before trimming the edges and dabing a little superglue.   Once that is done will wipe on trueoil once a day for 5 or 6.

Need to see more skin!
