I have bought tons of sharpening equipment, ranging from high quality systems like KME to simple files. Lately, I seem to always use the RADA wheel sharpener for just about everything.  House knives, hunting knives, broadheads, everything. This thing works great and lasts just about forever. It gets any 2 blade hair shaving close quickly. Maybe not as sharp as a sharpening system, but pretty darn sharp. Very convenient for at home and in the field. When I sharpen single bevels, I stil use the RADA to take the burr off gently. It works great. Best yet, it is about as inexpensive as they come. Now I shoot a little heavier bows than some, so penetration isn't normally a problem for me and others mileage may vary. I am getting good results with this little device that fits easily in your pocket. Much better than I get with carbide type sharpeners. It really shines when sharpening the simmons type heads. Well, I just thought that I would share. I know that there have been other posts on the topic. What can I say, I'm a slow learner.

One of these days they're gonna put an ultra-fine wheel in that thing & sell a bunch.

Where can you get them,it'll give me another one to check, compare and I'll still be confuse about wich's the best sharpening system!!!Lol
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

You can get them from thw simmons website. Just google it. I think they are 8-9 dollars.

Mike Manassa

pdk25,your quite the salesman..I read your post and went to Amazon and got a 2 pack of the sharpeners for $12.00..Mike

Buddy, I got a 6 pack of simmons safari broadheads that I touched up with the wheel. When we get after some hogs we can see what kind of a hole they put in. They sure look mean.

I don't want to p!$$ off any of the sponsors. They have great products and I will still use them from time to time. I am just finding this wheel very convenient.

Your not a slow learner Pat! your just used to filling your head with Medical stuff. I can sharpen a broadhead but no way could I retain all the information you have Doc! Just let me know when I can send you some heads to sharpen.

Dirtybird

You know that's a great idea Pat and really cheap too.  Great advice for anyone who might need a good sharpener.

Charlie Lamb

The "Rada" sharpener is a dandy for sure. A must have if you shoot the Simmons heads. Works "good enough" for field work all by itself and will bring an edge to razor quality with application of jewel stick or crock stick.

Cheap enough I keep them everywhere... in my pack, on the work bench, in the kitchen tool drawer.

Mike, I can't get them as sharp as yours are but they'll get the job done.

Dave, I might use a Simmons head when we get after some hogs.

See, if Charlie uses one it must work!

Pat,

I like these so well that I recently added these and more of the RADA knives and stuff to our website.  These are the "WORKING MAN's" utencils!

Can't wait to get together and shoot our Big Jim's!!!
