The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

IndianaBowman

Sounds great Ryan! I'm praying for an early spring. Hopefully there will be some bears out when Tyler and Jen are up.

Manitoba Stickflinger

Mike...you're GOING TO shoot a big one...are you ready?

MUDD...I'll take your offer as serious and perhaps take you up on it in the next couple years!

Terry...early or not, spring will bring at least a few bears to Tyler and Jen. Maybe even a few a night...we'll see!

LITTLEBIGMAN

you guys are killing me so very glad i have my deposit in for next season!
Make a life, not a living

IndianaBowman

We're hoping Ryan!  Just two good bears is all it will take. One for Tyler and one for Jen. We've been having shooting competitions every day. Tyler beat me yesterday. I must be getting old!

Darren

Looks like no huntin for you this spring Ry, Do you need me to keep your tree stand warm at "ole faithful" their buddy !!

IndianaBowman

Ryan, will you be using any blinds like a Double Bull? If yes, I'll get Tyler and Jen shooting from one. You could set one up about 5 yards from a bait. That'd get their heart pumping.

IndianaBowman

Ryan, here is the current shooting set up for practice. Any suggested changes?

Terry...just love the training all of you are doing for the hunt! Thanks for the pix too. We can certainly do the ground blind thing, but I prefer to use natural cover...double bulls are only good if left in place for a period of time to let the mature bears get used to them. If they are left there for a time period they get eaten...hence why I don't use them for bears! Remember, we're looking for mature bears!

5 yards on the ground seems to be a theme this year...let's do it!

I just told Jen and Tyler about the 5 yard ground blind and Tyler said "oh goodness, that's scary". Jen said, "that'd be so cool".

Were on Ryan! Set us up on the ground 5 yards away. They both said "we can make that shot and if not were screwed!"

Lechwe, the stand is 15' up, but the targets are down in a depression a little.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!You guys are killing me!!!

Bonebuster

5 yards...on the ground...and bears as big as Volkswagons.

Steve O

You guys are nuts.  My safety rope will have a quick release and I am thinking of packing a Louisville Slugger with me to stand to make sure they know all the bait is IN the barrel...

Manitoba Stickflinger

Steve...can I get that Louisville Slugger vs. bear thing all on video...now that's traditional! Is the bat weighted FOC?

Bonebuster

IndianaBowman

Batter up! Now that would be good TV!

Ryan, maybe you should only count on having one of my kids in the ground blind at 5 yards at a time. I'm not too confident I can get Tina to agree to video under those circumstance. Besides, who wants to watch a bunch of video jumping up and down. It would look like the Blair Witch Project or maybe it's the Bear Watch Project.

Steve O

:biglaugh:

It will definitely not have a skinny handle, and not be corked!

Lechwe

Ryan,

I hear Steve likes to be tucked in at night also. You may want to make sure to have an extra night light for him incase they won't let his on the plane  :goldtooth:
