Bows and blinds

For those of you that hunt from commercially made ground blinds, How tall is your blind and what length bows do you use in it?


I'm hoping to do some turkey hunting with a bow and need a few stats to start.

I've only used Double bull blinds, and I shoot a 56" recurve out of them with room to spare.

If I was shooting 62+", I'd go to the recurve model blind.

with my 62" bow's i have to hunker down a bit more than i would like but it works...nothing worse than having ur bow tip hit the roof when u shoot...like GURU said there are models available for longer  bow use

I don't know the height of the blind, but we use a Primos Escape Deluxe with a 64" recurve. No problems at all.

I shoot a 64" LB from an Ameristep Penthouse blind.

I have four DB recurve models and shoot 62" curves out of them all the time.  A 64" longbow is a bit tougher.

Do a Google for Barronet 350 blind. 80" center height and around 75" square, hub style.
My bud Tracy has one and it's WONDERFUL!!! You can get up and stretch your legs while you walk around in the sucker... seriously.

Only weighs 17# as well.l

Thanks guys.  I have two blinds at the moment.  One I bought for my son a few years ago but he is taking a "too much work and raising kids break" from turkey hunting.  The other my wife got me for Christmas and I don't think either is tall enough to shoot a longbow.  I guess I'll either have to get a shorter bow or taller blind.  Maybe both!

I shoot a 60" recurve in mine, no problems, my 64" LB won't work though.

Curt is correct.  I have a really old double bull.  One of the first ones made...and I have to prop it up on logs or something to be able to shoot my 62 inch bows out of it.  If you are going to get a double bull...get the recurve model.

Charlie's right, They are a great blind and we paid $95 for it. I can stand up and shoot a 66" longbow and just have to bend down a little bit. I'm 5'9". The blind is 80" tall and 90" hub to hub wide.

   

The only draw back I have seen from the bigger blind is that they hold more snow.

   

I think I have the problem fixed and need to go out and check after this last blizzard yesterday.

I have a big yukon, an ameristep penthouse and and a predators den. All have their place. Without a doubt the yukon and the predator are the best in the wind. The penthouse will work good on calm days or in the woods. I shoot a 56" Bear T/D for turkey so I can use any of them but when I shoot my 62" bows I have go with one of the bigger ones. Make sure you have a "high" chair if you go with a yukon so you can see when sitting down. You'll probably be able to stand when you shoot.

I have a double bull and an Eastman matrix which was a lot cheaper and it is a lot taller than the double bull. Matrix is about $150.00 new.
