Hey! Nice Doe Tom. Do you make your own summer sausage? If so can you share the reciepe for the
jalapeno summer sausage with us! Congrats again, I have yet to close the deal with a white-tail but I will be out a few more times yet this season.

Nice doe Tom.  I hate it when the Jalapeno& Cheese smokeys are gone! Been slow around here as well.

Harry, no I send the meat off and have the sausage made at Webbs in Breckenridge county. It is simply amazing.

Nice job, on the shot and pictorial.  Enjoy that hot sausage.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Nice deer.  Great post.

There is just nothing like the feeling, after the slamming adrenaline rush of the post-shot minutes and the anticipation of the bloodtrail, as that relief and welling up of thanks from that first glimpse of the deer laying up ahead.

I felt it again in your post.  Thanks!

Exactly Charlie, glad I could take you along. I walked to the truck and then tried to cut the deer trail instead of following blood/tracks from the spot of the shot. I got to where I thought the deer had been and there where tracks everywhere with no blood. It took me 10 minutes or so to find her trail and was a huge relief when I saw the blood. I instantly knew she wouldn't be far. There is nothing like our game.
