Congrats Dan! You have really put your time in this year and have earned that buck. I am so envious. Good on you. Tom.

Great deer, great story! Congrats on a successful season.
I would've taken better care of myself,if I'd known I was gonna live this long!

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Great story.   It is great to have rut stories right before Christmas.  Better than presents.

Dirtybird

Great story and a mighty fine buck.  A very nice season in deed.

Great buck and a fine story, too! Congrats! P.S. I really like hunting in your state! So much so, that I might actually make it my state, as well! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys-

My dad and I have a good relationship.  Grew up in northern MI. Grayling/Gaylord area. . .no school when deer season opened! He is always excited and likes to brag on me still.  I have pictures here going back four generations of deer hunters in our family- both sides!! There is something about tradition, heritage, family, etc. that all points to something far greater than we fully taste here and now. . .

I am often pleased that guys on this site seem to get that.  I do not witness it in other hunting discussions and sites. There really is something more than getting a big buck.

More discussion for another time. . .

Encouraged that you guys can appreciate a "glimpse" into my world and blessings.

Merry Christmas -

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Very true Dan, you just see things on here you don't see on other sites.  A great place to be a part of.   :campfire:    :coffee:

Man what a hog.  Congratulations!!
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
