If you could design the perfect broadhead what would it's characteristics be.   :coffee:
Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Single blade (two edges), no moving parts, as low of drag as possible from ferrule to blade joint (no exposed spot welds, crimps, etc.).  Glue-on, double bevel ('cause I don't know how to sharpen a single bevel on a broadhead).

Rockwell of 50 or 51 so it can be file sharpened.  Cost no more than $4 each so I'm not afraid to lose a few stump shooting or small game hunting.

Think I just described a Stos or a Magnus.

For me it would be a 160 snuffer but with thicker (.060) blades for 3 blades or a double bevel abowyer whitetail.
Bowhunting is "KILL and EAT" not "Catch and Release".....Semper Fi!

KyleAllen

it would be manufactured with g5's patented process that allows for now seams whatsoever.

2 blade
25 degree single bevel
tanto tip
screw in
Vented

Friend

It would have the characteristics of the BH named 'Confidence'.

I have 3

3 blade would be exactly like the VPA 1 1/4" head

2 blade double bevel would be similar to the Magnus I except it would have a 1 3/4" to 2" cut.

2 blade single bevel would be just like the Abowyer Large Bonehead except half the price.
Chasing my kids and my degree for now but come next fall the critters better look out.  ;)

It would look exactly like a zwicky delta 4 blade only a bit heavier, maybe 175gr.

How about a STOS with a bleeder blade?
The best things in life....aren't things!

YORNOC

It would explode upon impact taking out anything within 25 yards.

Zwickey Broadheads- with a Teflon(TM.) coat. Or a Stos with bleeders.- oh yeah and some good screw-in inserts to go with them in a few different weights.

A 300 grain, 1.5" dia 3 blade in conjunction w/31%+ Ultra-EFOC at ~610 grains will suffice for me.

Hair seeking, self sharpening.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.
Yip yipahooooo yipyipyip.

2 blade single bevel similar in profile to the Abowyer Brown Bear weighing about 200 gr made out of S30V stainless, all for a reasonable cost.

I like Bill's idea above. 160 grn STOS with removeable bleeder blade. Awesome combo. Easy to sharpen, with a great cut.

I'd kind of like to see a VPA style head with the sharks tooth style blades (like the Centaur / Simmon's heads).

Like a Shuttle T-Lock on steriods.

For me a tradepoint version of the grizzly el grade. The new grizzly el grade a close second. The griz just needs to be touch up ready out of the package for the sharpening challanged to be as good as it gets.
