Great job and a super buck for public land.

I bet THAT was a long drag, and the trail was uphill, both ways! Beautiful buck, congrats for going the extra mile and doing it the hard way.

Great story and great deer!!  Congrats on doing the work to get away from the crowds.  Though the real work in that would be the drag out I am sure.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Killie, only one mountain to climb. About 200ft elevation gain.I hated that deer by the time I got him out.

Shot him around 7:30 AM. He was loaded in my truck at 2:30 PM.

Ileft my Web,shed my extra cothes. everything except food, ,lighter, water and toilet paper I left at the killsite.

I went back yesterday and retrieved my gear.

Greaaaat recount of the hunt.

You done good...real good!
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Great deer! Im glad someone got something on the park. Hunters were thick as thieves in there from what I hear and just as friendly.
