It will most likely stack at your draw. It will shoot but not as smooth as a longer bow would. I would shoot a 60" or 62" with your draw. I draw 28 and a 58" bow doesn't shot as good for me as a 60

I love short bows. I have a 52" kmag. That I love and my favorite is a 50" sheep eater spirit. I draw a true 29" and have no problems what so ever. Just remember every bow and every person is different. Try and see if it works for you. Good luck!

I shoot a 56" bow of similar design at 30+ inches with no problems. I doubt it will stack at 29". Forward handle design like the shrew are build to be short and handle the longer draw.

I had a 52" Classic Hunter.  I draw almost 30".

No stack.

Night Wing

With a 30" draw length and short length bows, I'd be more concerned with the issue of finger pinch than with stacking.

I think the 56" Super Shrew may be a little short for your draw, however, I shoot a 56" Classic Hunter at 29 1/2" with no stack at all.

I have a 29" draw and shoot a 56" 50#@28" recurve made by Gene Sanders. I couldn't be happier but I am considering a 52" recurve by Gene.

You should be ok, I've heard plenty of guys with long draws shooting those bows with no problem.
Just one more step please!

Soundman, you should take advice only from those with long draws that have shot the 56" Shrew Classic Hunter. This bow is not be be compared with some of the other bows of that length...    :archer:

That was my intention of hearing from guys with a long draw and shooting a super shrew 56" all my other bows have been 64"-66"

Watch out, Super Shrew and Shrew Classic Hunter are not the same design. I shoot a 56" Super Shrew at 28" without any stacking, and a 54" Classic Hunter without any trouble.

Don't look at the SS for your draw unless it 60".  A CH would be great.  I plan to get a 56" CH when my name comes up.  I was looking at a 58" SS used, and Gregg told me a 58" SS would not be good for a draw of 29" or more. I draw 29 1/2", and he said a 60" would be ok.

I would not recommend a 56" Super Shrew for 29" draw.  A 56" Shrew Classic Hunter will handle 29" with ease.

They are not the same design.

Just to be clear, what I said was I had a 52" Classic Hunter and it did not stack out to my almost 30" draw.  I've owned or shot ALL the SuperShrew models made since 2002 or so and never had an issue with any one of them, no stacking, no finger pinching, NO issues.  I like the 58"s best and the longbow models better than the Scout/Lil Favorites.

Looking thru here somebody could get the impression I thought Cascade bows would be a good fit...nothing could be further from the truth.
