Where do have your nock point set?

 :archer:

3Under

It depends on the bow and how it was originally tillered.

It's greater for bows that were tillered for "split fingers" than those that are tillered for three under. Apprximately 9/16" to 11/16" above square (to the underside of the nock) on bow tillered for split fingers.

On bows that were tillered for three under, it is 1/2" to 5/8" above square to the underside of the nock.

I use fast Flight string with over hand and under hand knots for a string nock. Lighter ten a metal nock and you can screw it up and down with out tools. I start about 1/2 inch high and shoot till all my arrows are strainght into the target and I leave it there.

Generally, between 5/8" and 3/4", depending on the results of bare shaft testing.  My goal is to attain a slight nock high (maybe 5 degrees nock high).

I'm at 1/2" to bottom top of the nock.

All my bows end up about 9/16 to 5/8. Doesnt seem to really matter the tiller of the bow for me.

jess stuart

Usually about 5/8" depending on the bow.

I have never shot 3 under so don't have a clue on that style.  For most of my bows shooting split fingers I seem to wind up about 1/2" above square measured at the bottom of the knock.  I was into making self bows for a while and shot off my knuckle.  What I learned was that you should set the knock just high enough that the feathers didn't "burn" your finger.  I by full lenght feathers and burn them 1/2" high.  I suspect there is a correlation here.

I paper tune my bow so if I am tearing up or down then I move it accordingly.

I started shooting 2 fingers under today and it was working quite nicely with my 42 pound Howatt Ventura.

I have done no adjusting of the nock point with any of the bows I shoot 3 under. I just left them where the previous owners had them. I will fine tune things this winter.

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

1/2 in. to mid nock. I set it there because that is what gave me the best arrow flight.

My recurve is tillered for 3 under and i set the nock 1/4" high. My longbow is tillered for split and I set the nock 1/2" high.

With my bows tillered for 3 under the nock height is about 1/4" to 3/8" depending on the bow. For the bows tillered for split, the nock height was about 1/2"

Like most everything else in traditional shooting, it is what works best for the individual.
