Who makes the quietest pack bags these days?  I'm talking about doing away with that scratchy sound when brush rubs up against the material as you're trying to sneak along quietly.

Berber material?
Wool material?
Synthetic?

Who has an opinion?  :help:

I love my KOM wool lumbar pack...  too much $$ for new, but got a really good trade deal from another tradganger.

My KOM back pack is as silent as a pack can be.

I got a fleece "day one" pack and it is very quiet!  Many nice elastic pockets also.

I'll second the Day One Fleece pack. Quiet as can be and you can even turn it inside out and wash it with your hunting clothes. Perfect for day hunts. Since Laura and I have a bit of a hike or canoe ride to our property I always bring it fully loaded with all that I might need to track and take care of things should one of us get lucky. It is very well made and seems to be holding up really well after three seasons.
The best things in life....aren't things!

I have just bought Sika fanny and day pack. My son bought the big one. Best pack I've ever owned and I've retired my Badlands as a result.

I don't mean to go a little off track here, but this hunting hip pouch is the best thing I've brought into the woods with me. You wouldn't believe how convenient it is to access, and how out of the way, and natural this pack feels. Quality made, but no demand for it for some readon. All the discount suppliers bought up the surplus, and now are offering it dirt cheap!

If you like to carry a lot, or just a little... this pouch fits the needs... (Wow I just sounded like an info-mmercial)

Anyhow, I've been wanting to post about this pack for a while now, and I probably still will.

But felt this was a good opportunity to give a shout out to this hip pouch...

I have a Fleece pack that is very quiet. Highly recommended.

any pack made of wool, really. But, some wool packs have louder zippers than packs made of nylon

I should have mentioned,I am using a large fanny pack with shoulder straps and a large daypack, both fleece, made by Rancho Safari.Sorry,I don't remember the numbers. They are both very well constructed and as quiet as a pack can get.

Pack noise has been far down the list of reasons for me to get busted.

Wind, wind, wind and especially swirling wind are my top four.

Sitka packs are the bomb. Very quiet and functional, like Badlands were 10-15 years ago. Try them you will not be disappointed.

If you can find an old Cabela's fleece with a leather bottom that is the ticket for me.  I was able to find three of them (treebark camo), over time, on the big auction site.

I have an old fleece back pack from LL Bean in woodland camo. I've had it for about 30 yrs. Absolutely quiet and indestructible.(nut)

I have a small Ranch Safari fleece bag that I like a lot.  It is a very simple back pack but meets my needs as a day bag. I got this bag from Desert Dude and he still regrets selling it to me.
