We lost a good man and real role model.

pow-bow

Got my first bow from him at Northwest Archery many years ago.  A real loss to the archery world.  If you haven't read it "Bows on the Little Delta" is a great book by a great man.

Condolences and prayers for the St. Charles family.  May God Rest His Soul.  He has given so much of himself throughout his life to promote and preserve archery and bowhunting.  Without his early efforts, bowhunting would not have been accepted as a viable form of killing game.  Thanks you Mr. St. Charles for your selfless devotion, allowing me the opportunity to pursure game with my stick and string.  God Bless, and God Speed on your journey towards eternity.

This is a sad passing of one of our living legends.  Fortunately the fire he started has been kept burning in all of us here young and old.

About 5-6 years ago while visiting my daughter in Seattle I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours with Glenn. It is something I will always treasure. My prayers and condolences to his family.
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Truly a sad day for all that knew Glenn and his family. He was a true icon for archery.

I was able to buy a hard bound copy of "Bows on the Little Delta" and he signed it for me a couple years ago.  I was also able to sit with him for a few minutes, one of the highlights of by bowhunting life.  He will be missed - but never forgotten.

Was sadden to receive a call this afternoon telling me of Glenn's passing.  My daughter had baked a batch of Margret's 'cardboard cookies' yesterday, and we talked about sending a few to Glenn.  Killdeer's post was very fitting.  He will be missed.

I was aware of how sick Mr St Charles was. I have been communicating with Suzanne for a couple of weeks while ordering arrows. Suzanne said that he was diagnosed with lung cancer. This was the communciation from her to me:
Tuesday, we found out that dad has lung cancer. That explains the fast decline. Spent today with him. He has lots of support. 24 hour care (hospice as of today) as well as all 5 of his kids taking turns hanging out with him. He told us today that he doesn't want us to give up on him. He said he is going to beat it.

He was a strong and determined man. We are all better for his time with us.

Few can be called a legend in their field - Mr. St. Charles is one of the exceptions. My condolences to his family and friends.

He has touched the lives of a lot of people who he never personally knew. We should all be so impactful.

Rest in peace and thank you for everything.

Truly a sad day in archery.  I remember feeling bad when they sold Northwest Archery and closed up shop a few years ago...but not nearly as bad I do today.

I will wander outside this evening, nock one up, and let it fly in memory of Glenn.  Rest in peace as this arrow will.

That is so sad. A true pioneer. I even think Fred Bear followed his foot tracks. I wished I would've read this this morning, I would've shot some arrows in his memory while out scouting and setting a stand.

I met Mr. St. Charles one time, at Denton Hill.  Although not much was said, I've never forgotten our exchange.  Long story kept short, to me, it will always be a very pleasant memory.

Your back in the woods!

GOD Bless,

David
