New Broadheads now I have to pic from the results

I got 2 different broadheads today first were Magnus Snuffers 125gr.($12.99),and the second were Eclipse land sharks 125gr($21.00)I am familiar with the Snuffers and how well they do on game.I would like to hear about any experience you may have with the Eclipse land sharks heads.I have both sets mounted and they both spin well,I will shoot them tomorrow and see how they fly.

Well I just got a chance to shoot them(thanks to a break in the rain and work).The Landsharks made a slight visible spiraling in flight but hit a little left and penetrated well.The snuffers had a slight whistle ,but flew like bullets and slammed the target on the mark.Had great penetration.All the arrows used are the same spine and feathers and both had 125 gr heads.The snuffer arrows weight 593 gr and the Sharks weight 574gr,my hill arrows headed arrows weight in at 678gr,and are on the mark with ok penetration. All are shot from a Hill Tembo 70@31

 The question is should I switch from my Hills?

Broadheads, for me, must fly straight, take a razor sharp edge and be reasonably rugged. I would shoot the head that shoots the straightest, takes the best edge and of the ones  you names they will all hold up well.  As you describe it the Snuffers shoot the best. I know that  you can sharpen them to shaving sharp and the little bit of noise they make can be remedied with a thin coat of vaseline.

I know it's ultimately my decision(I should have worded it different). I am just looking for some suggestions based on members experience with these heads and similar arrow weight,so I can employ the most effective projectile for penetration(currently i'm shooting into a Styrofoam block,not an animal).
 When I am trying something new I like to do some research and get opinions.The snuffers I have toyed around with but never hunted with and I have no experience with the landsharks. So if you guys have any experience with similar arrow and these head combination's let me know.Thanks Tim

With a bow at that weight with tuned arrows any broadhead you use will absolutely blow thru a deer or anything else you are hunting in the south (which is where you are going to be).  i've used snuffers and landsharks (not the eclipse) in bows with a lot less weight and they worked fine.  i would say use the one you can get the sharpest! If you can get both sharp and tuned, use both! i mix and match.

I have never heard of Eclipse land sharks. I have heard of Eclipse broadheads and Land Shark broadheads. I will have to give Blake a call to see if I can get some to try.

lpcjon2 : Over the years I have read a lot of posts about what some refer to as the "hiss of death" created by Snuffers because of their size and construction. I once had the pleasure to meet Roger Rothhaarr and I believe it was him who told me how to quiet them down. All you need to do is smear a light coat of vaseline or any kind of petroleum based jelly on the blades, being sure you cover the edges of the cutouts, and you will have a quiet head. This works on Woodsman heads as well. I used Snuffers exclusively for many years and never had a problem with noise when I treated each head in this manner.

Thats them I threw the package away and Eclipse was stuck in my head Sorry about that.

Bill, Thanks for that tip I will try it this weekend. And it will keep them from rusting as well.
