The hat is seriously oldschool.

Hunting in a kilt would require a bit more deet and also more frequent checking for ticks and chiggers! I just don't want to be there while ya'all are checking.   :saywhat:

On the opposite side, they would be more comfortable, look awesome and answering natures call would be simplified.

I don't think there are any instant gremlins for that.....    :nono:

"Skin so Soft" works pretty good, and some Cutter on the tops of your boots.

Most of you know that I've been giving Mudd and Bill a hard time about the Robin Hood hats. Hope you also understand that it's all been in fun and tongue in cheek. I think both Bill and Mudd are great guys and I'd be honored to share a camp with either or both anytime. That said, I have an announcement to make........

Mudd is making me a green hat just like his!!!!!

I've worn my kilts to 3D shoots and find them very comfortable. Warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. And watering the bushes is a breeze.

I think we have found our Friar Tuck look alike.  It looks good on ya Bill, just ain't to sure about the tights.  :saywhat:

I hope everyone takes the ribbing as good natured. I sure don't mean any harm. You all are welcome in my camp!

JoeKeith:
Can't believe you are second guessing my tights, which are actually a pair of poly-pro long drawers. They would look better on someone else's body, but remember it was 100 degrees and raining when the picture was taken. I thought "Ric O'Shay" was going to come unglued when I got out of the car. Robin Hood I'm not, but Friar Tuck I might be.

Enjoy life, love thy neighbor and stay safe.

Come on Jeff B. You know you would be the talk of the New Zealand outback in one of "Mudds" hats. The kilt or the tights, well so,so; But the hat is something else. Besides that, your camo Fred Bear hat is getting a little frayed around the edges. Have a great day and "Keep'um Sharp".

Killie,

That is not a skirt it is a kilt.  Looks similar but has entirely different reasons for being worn.  They allow for freedom of movement in combat.  Plus the other benefits already mentioned.  One of the local trad guys always wears a utili kilt in the field and at trad shoots.  I have been thinking about taking to hunting in my clan colors.

Skill is not born into anyone.  It is earned thru hard work and perseverance.

Whoops, I didn't see Killdeer's reference. Here's something I posted on another thread back in 2003 in response to a similar statement:

Why on earth a crossdresser would want to wear a man's garment I just can't figure. A kilt is specifically men's wear, *not* women's. Women wear skirts and dresses and unless it's called that in jest between friends, a kilt isn't a skirt. Men have worn kilts and kilt-like garments for a few thousand years and I don't see a whole lot wrong with it. In fact, some of the biggest fans of my kilts have been women.
The kilt so worried the English that they outlawed wearing it when they outlawed the Great Pipes as a weapon of war in 1746. The kilt was a point of national pride and unity to the warrior Scots and the English did their best to squash that pride. It didn't work and the ban was eventually rescinded.
Have you ever heard something other than Amazing Grace on the pipes? Have you ever heard a Master Piper just cut loose and make them roar? It's a wild and free sound and even if you've never been to Scotland the hair on your neck will stiffen, your blood will quicken, and you'll be looking for a claymore to repel the invaders of your home, whether they be Romans, Norse, or English. The kilt brings that freedom and pride into our mundane lives and I value it for its heritage as much as for its comfort .

Stay out of the brush with those tights and kilts. Might ruin a perfectly good hunt. I wouldn't look forward to the fence crossings either. Ouch!!
If man were to know everything in advance, there would be no such thing as adventure!
