Looking for good sort brimed hat

I am having trouble this year with finding a short brimed hat. I have used buckets and jones style hats in the past but I am having problems finding a good hat this year. I like bonnies and are easier to find but the brim get in the way on some shoot angles for me. I would be happy with any short brimed hat of quality matieral. Wool or fleece for cold weather and light but breathable matieral for early hunts. Thank you for your help.

You could buy the hat you like and take it to a sew shop to have the brim shortened to your desired length...or you could buy one from Gray Wolf Woolens and they will tailor the brim for you.

Check out Prairie Traditions on the sponsors, Joe has a good selection of Fedora style hats. I got one from him at Denton Hill,all wool felt and crush able.Not sure if that's what your looking for.Brim is about 2".

I 2nd Prairie Traditions..bought a short rimed Bailey fedora and just love it.  Great in rain and strong overhead sun.

The Wensels are selling 3 patterns of their short brimmed hat with a wire brim you can turn up.  Olive drab, brown camo, green camo.  Best hat I've owned.

Outback has a nice willis hat I use for warm weather with a mesh crown and oilcloth brim that is soft. Orvis has a hat that is water resistant and is a blend of wool and fur that is warm and soft called a Jefferson rain hat with a short brim for cold weather. Get any wide brimmed cowboy hat and then trim the brim as short as you want. I normally cut mine to 2 and 1/2 inches.

The perfect hat is a real challenge to find.

I have several hats that I like but as yet I haven't found that "perfect hat" that just exudes "me".

I have seen a few folks wearing hats that are so natural on them they are almost as much a part of them as any other part of their body.

That's what I want for me.

i have an australian cowboy hat made by a company called barmah.it is made of kangaroo leather.it is very soft and water proof.you can roll it into a ball,but when you let it go it pops back into shape.best of all the brim is soft and doesn't get in the way of the bow string.you should check one out.

I wear a Filson tin cloth packer hat. I've had this thing so long it is not pretty to look at, but I love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

I used to rodeo, so I have worn out a good many felt cowboy hats, and unless you get 20X or better it's not going to last too long if you are rough on it. My filson hat is almost 20 years old, has blood stains dirt and crud on it, but is all in one piece still.

A friend of mine bought I nice one at Denton Hill from Big Jim's Bows, wire in the brim as well.
