Was wondering what the best all around elk hunting boots are in your guys opinion?I was looking at Kenetrek. But am not familiar with them.

Thanks for any feedback!

I have a pair of the non-insulated Kenetrek's. It takes your feet a little while to get used to them because the bottoms don't have much flex when they're new.  Actually, no flex! They made my feet tired when I first started wearing them.  But now I wear them alot, from spring shed hunting to late archery and love them.

They're especially good in rocky terrain and where ankle support is needed.  If you're going to be hunting flat country or pine forest then you could probably get by with something in a light hiking boot.

HornHunter

they look a lot like the Lowa boots

and I have had terrible luck with Lowa's

Lowa's are over priced, POORLY made, and will never own a nother pair,

look into a pair of original meindels,, (not the cabelas version) just had mine resoled and after 12 years they are 100% waterproof and still going strong

I have the meindel taiga----http://www.ajbrooks.com/qs/category/40/2353/0/0

There are some quality boots out there and Kenetrek is one of them.  I ended up settling on the non-insulated mountain extreme boot from Kenetrek because they fit me really well.

I have a pair of mendel perfekt hikers and they are awesome boots. They just don't fit me well enough for a mountain hunt.  I have narrow feet...

So the best boot for you is a quality boot that fits you well!

Anybody else wanna add to the mix on quality elk hunting boots.

I've used a number of hiking-style boots for elk hunting over the years (Lowa, Meindl, etc) but was never happy with them. The past 2 seasons I've worn the Bozemans from Schnees. I've been VERY impressed with the boot- it fits my narrow foot very well and they are lightweight, fairly stable, and waterproof.

I put off buying them as they are Chinese made and I try not to buy anything made in China (hard to do anymore), but after looking at all available options they seemed like the only boot with the features I wanted, and I am VERY happy I tried them.

I just hopped on the Schnees website and can't find them. They have a 6" Bozeman- mine are taller (probably 8-9"). If interested I would call them to see if they still offer the taller boot.

Check out Lathrop and sons. They will fit your boots to your foot.
