I have both, The RER is a static limb, 62" 49# at 28" and the Asseinheimer is 62 inch 50# at 28".

Both are terrific recurves. As always, everything is subjective and each person is different. I however, seem to shoot my RER more than my Asseinheimer.

Diamond Paul

Tried the RER, but it did not suit me.  It's a very straight handle, almost a reflexed handle, and I like deflexed handles better.  Just didn't balance right for me, but there is nothing wrong with the bows, well-made, etc.  Never shot or even seen an Assenheimer.

Have had both and the RER shot quieter, smoother, and faster. The newer versions have more of a deflexed riser that the original t/d series. The Arroyo and LX may suit the deflex question.
Not slamming the Assenheimer but the RER's are made and backed by some fine people.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

Do not know much about Assenheimer's. I do know about RER's. Family owned and run. They make a quality that they stand behind. Excellent people with which to deal. Thing is you never know till you hold it in your hand and take some shots.
Good Luck!

Another big fan of RER and Kevin.  I own a t/d with two sets of limbs that I absolutely love.  I also had a longbow that I traded  :banghead:  because I thought it was too light. Excellent bows, excellent people.

Mike Bolin

Tried both and I much preferred the Assenheimer. Very quiet bows with decent speed and dead in the hand. Best bet would be to try them both because you may like them both or you may not care for either bow. Good luck!

Never had an RER but I owned two Assenheimers.

Assenheimers have really stout risers. Not big, just a good wt. Excellent fit and finish. Just beautiful and a rocking grip. Super dead in the hand. Powerful limbs. Great price point.

Considered the "Hunter's bow". Very quiet, rock hard finish that is tough to scratch. Arrow cast is great with heavy arrows.

I re-sold my "new to me" Assenheimers for exactly what I paid. So, re-sale is great.

Can't go wrong.

Also, what is the difference between a Master Hunter and Master Hunter Elite...I assume it's the riser, but what difference is one riser vs the other...I know one is a little longer??

Plumber

assenheimers are great bows! I think It very well may be one the best bows on the market.when your talking 1 price 2 customer service 3 shootabailty 4 craftmenship 5 quailty I dont know anything about the other fellow bows.other then alot of people shoot them as well.from what I see on this site.

Assenheimer Elite has a different design in the riser...you can sii it if you go to the website.  I really enjoy mine and I tell that with the exception of the blackwidow I owned...the assenheimer fits my hand like no other!!

Djanko,

I wish I had my Cocobolo Assenheimer back. It is the second bow on the pictures above. Should not have sold it. Dang it.

Djanko, Don's shop is only about 1.5 hours south of you just west of Mansfield. He is a great guy to do business with. Don and his wife and the greatest. He really stands by his bows. If you call him he would welcome a visit to answer all you questions and show you his shop.

i use to have an RER and they are real sweet to shoot so  ya cant go wrong with one of those. just my 10 cents worth.

Had both. Did not care for the RER at all and got rid of it. Really like the Assenheimer. Both are well crafted, quality bows.

If I lived 90 minutes away from Don's shop, I would have been there 89 Minutes ago.
