Set out to check on this area I discovered a month ago. Wanted to see if the activity I first came across was still there. You decide.   :D

Here's where the fun begins!   :p

I'd say the activity was still happening.

This trail is like an interstate or something! My heart just got excited when I found this last month. And to see that it is still looking good, well, August is going to be a blast!   :biglaugh:

Right near this spot is where I'll be hanging my stand. There were literally a hundred deer tracks all over. I got out before leaving to much human trace behind. Just to play it safe.

Found a great area to whack some pesky stumps and spent an hour taking them down!

Thanks for joining me on my tour of the beautiful Pacific North West!   :wavey:

I always liked that area.  My wife and I are considering moving back to the Pacific Northwest in a few years.  What are your seasons and bag limits?  I'm guessing you have tons of blacktail and elk around.

That is just a beautiful spot. I can understand why you are excited about the up and come'n season. Do you have to travel far to get there or is it a close commute.
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Beautiful pictures     You are so lucky to be able to live in an area like that.

Looper: Our early season runs the last weekend in August to the last weekend in Sept. Late season runs 3rd week of Nov. to about 2nd week of Dec. That's blacktail and elk both. 1 animal each in this area and either sex so, one deer and one elk only. This is for the General season. I didn't put in for any draws.

Ron: Takes me about 35 min to get there.

There's a place almost identical to that where I go. Looks beautiful!

Beautiful pictures and country. I love those road cloased signs. That is usually what I look for to hunt. I like going in deep where vehicles can't go.

Ken: We'll make it happen some day. I guarantee it!

Gil: I agree with you. I hunted up this area last year and didn't run into another hunter the whole time. Most don't want to walk that far in. Me, I don't mind it at all.

Thanks Jim. It is an area a little east of Lebanon, OR. I've been hunting up that way since 2006 and have seen plenty of deer and turkey. Found elk sign but, have yet to see them up there. I call them "Timber Ghosts" because they are so hard to find.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

Felix, if all goes well, I might be meeting up with you folks over in Burns. That is, I'm assuming you are talking about the 2010 Tradgang elk hunt?

Everybody's going to Oregon!
Maybe it's time for me to visit kin there.
