Did anyone see the show on Discovery last night?  I only got to see the last quarter, and I do want to see the whole show.

Interesting traits are showing up near Abbyville GA and elsewhere in the US....and it could make for some very exciting hunts.....and, make pig hunting more available to us hunters when the bomb explodes.

However, I did get a kick out of the guys reporting making them out to be hideous monsters that would come in your house in the middle of the night and eat your young.

I'm sure there's some truth to what they are saying, but also some sensationalism as well.  And they sure seemed scared to even get out of there car to get unstuck.

I have seen it, it reminded me of that other show called "Monsterquest" lots of scary teasers but short on results.

kat

I saw it.

From the way they talked, these viscous pigs will attack at a moments notice.

Makes them sound like real monsters.

I guess whatever sells airtime.

Dang I'm not sure dropping pigs on anyone is going to go over well.  The folks in the muslim world are to big on pork you know.

Of course it would be cheaper then the smart bombs.

I only caught some of it. I liked how they kept emphasizing how they dangerous they are and a couple of young Georgia boys chase them with dogs and catch them by hand. To boot they didn't have any weapons.

I can't wait to go down to Ray's next year and test them. Maybe I can use hamburger scent to atract them, just in case they are hungry for cow ot human! I know I stink, maybe I can play let the pigs come to you, instead of chasing them.

I don`t live really far from Abbeville. LOTS of prime hunting land. Near impossible to join a club there.Interesting enough the farmers that are getting put out of business by the pigs....won`t let you hunt.RC

Go green, hug a tree, oops, I mean kill a pig!

That show was funny. Coming to your door in the middle of the night. LOL.

It was pretty interesting, you can watch the show on their website. If you just google "pig bomb" it should come up.

the whole documentary can be viewed on YouTube.

I DVRd it--watch it tonight. Why do they (TV show types) have to make everything frightening? I guess anxiety makes good TV? I'm sick of it!

hunt it

Oh Yeah, send em north please. I'll tade em for whitetails any day of the year.

Caught the last part of it, and it seemed like there was one slant to the story that "russian" hogs were mixing with US domestic hogs gone feral. I kept waiting for them to explain how the russian boars got into the woods to make more little pigs, but I guess I missed that point. Did they say some hunt clubs in TN, NC, TX, etc. released them on purpose like I have read/heard elsewhere? I plan to find it again and watch the whole show. My 19 year old son told me it was on, and we watched the last part together. I asked him if he would like go bowhunt hogs some time, and he said sure, find a place and he would go with me. We have hogs throughout North TX, and I'm going to find us some pigs to hunt. You may or may not like the show, but looks like one good thing that show did was to get me a hog hunting buddy!

J-dog

Yeah some interesting info and sensationalization(word or not??) going on. I agree it is about like the monsterquest show. Lotsa good fun to watch but very little in the way of proof or results.

JEJ,
Yeah Russians were brought into western NC so many yrs ago and got out. Elsewhere as well I am sure but it does occur.

Worked at a hog place in SC - we had some pure breds in there and know of two that got loose. One BIG boar that when we got him I was told to "go in the pen with this egg and lead him into the horse trailer." YEAH, NO - but that boar was as gentle as a house kitten.
