Whats your arrow weight light pound shooters?

I saw another thread on here about whats your hunting weight. For all you guys who posted and shoot 45# to 50# bows, what is your arrow weight? My reason for this thread is I have a 64" Dakota which is 43# @ 28" and its my favorite, but i'm skeptical about hunting with it. Around here all we have to shoot is deer. Thanks for the info to all who respond!

My wife hunts with a bow that is 37 and one that is 39 pounds at her 26.5" draw. Of all the deer she has killed only one did not pass through or come out the other side. that one was completely inside of the deer and she never hit a deer that we could not easily find. Her arrows are tapered cedars around 400 to 420 grains with Grizzly 125 grain broadheads. You are shooting with more power than that, just get them flying real straight behind the broadhead and I would bet you will be in good shape.

I have a 64" BW PMAV 44# @ 28" and I shoot Gold Tip Ultralight 600's, with a 125 grain point and a 20 grain weight on the nock end. The total arrow weight is 366 grains, or about 8.3 gpp. The arrow speed is about 192 fps. I use this bow mainly for targets, as I can shoot many arrows without getting tired, but I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with it if/when I get so old I can't shoot the heavier bow accurately anymore.

45 to 48lbs...450 to 500grain. Works great on deer. 43lb will work fine. i limit my shots to broadside to slightly quartering away and usually 20 yards or less with a VERY sharp broadhead.

40 to 45.Anything from 375-450gns is fine with me.Just depends on how things tune out. This year I shot 425gns with the VAP Terminators.Only shot one deer and a couple groundhogs but the arrow buried in the ground on the far side like always.

I'm shooting bows from 42-47# @ my 28" draw. I shoot arrows that weigh a minimum of 450 grains, more is better. Lately I have been adding 100g brass inserts to the front end of 29" 3555 carbons and they fly really well--total arrow weight is about 525 with a 125g broadhead. I have no worries about shooting through a deer.

I shoot a 45# self made takedown longbow with ramin wood or fir arrows that weigh either 680 grains total, or 610 grains total. I've got complete penetration on several deer and a bear, in the past 4 years. I use a home made 190 grain single bevel broadhead. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt moose with my set up.

I shoot from #43 to #47 recurves at my 29" draw. My arrows are GT 35/55 with factory insert and 250 grain 2 blade heads. Right at 555 grains and have yet to pass through hogs or deer. I have even hit the shoulder plate on a #250 boar and still got complete pass through.
Use a sharp single blade head with some weight up front and pick a spot. Don't worry about the #.

I shoot 45-48 pounds (different bows) with 425 grain Beeman MFX Classics (75 grain insert included). The broadhead is a 100 grain 2-blade Magnus or I might try a single bevel. I haven't hunted with this set-up though but I'm sure planning to this fall. White-tail for sure and maybe even elk in Colorado or Roosevelts in Oregon.

My bows are 46-50 pounds and I'm shooting 500 series Easton Trad Only Carbons right at 500 grains total with 100 grain brass inserts and 125 grain points up front out of all of them.
