Can anyone give me any info on a Hill Recurve?

I am not sure that they are still making them but HH archery has made a recurve off and on for years. I believe it was called the Antelope. Moderately slim, non bulking riser. I shot one once and it was very pleasant.

I can't help myself...lol The words Howard Hill and recurve just look so foreign when put together.

I don't believe I've ever read them that close together ever.

That critter did exist,and I use to own one. Very narrow limbs with even more delicate nocks on the one I had. Bamboo cores under colored glass. It shot!!

Was the antlope the same as the Stotler design that Howard Hill commissioned? Seemed shorter if I remember right.

Hill also had a licensing agreement with Ben Pearson at one time, with Pearson offering a little recurve that had Hill's signature on it.  I think this was a totally different thing from the Antelope.  Craig still makes an R/D  (recurve in drag) model called the Badger, by special request only... not in the catalog.   It has the standard Hill riser but with bent limbs.  I had two of them and they shot well enough, just didn't feel right and moved on.

Yes Howard Hill Archery did make Recurve.. At the time Hill archery was making them the  Stotler boys where working for Hill Archery ( in the 1960s) Most where all boo core and maple risers.. But they did make them.. I have one that I sure its a Hill From the 60's  but it was painted over in camo when I took the paint off all the writing was gone) But I'll see if I can find some pics for you guys.. But if any of you have the 1960s Hill Archery Catalog there in there I think there where about 6  recurves being made from hunting bows to high dollar target bows ( both being made with Boo and or Malpe Cores)

Thanks for all the replys guys, Thought I had bought 2 Hill recurves with two Tembos I had purchased from an older gent. Came to my amazement when I looked closer I have gotten 2 left handed Jack Howard Gamemaster Recurves. They are all off to find out whats under the camo paint. Thanks again, Rhett

I once owned a 70 pounder.  It was a great shooting and glass backed bamboo.  I moved it because it was too heavy for sustained shooting.

Craig was making the bow as recently as the mid 1990's. I was visiting one of his bowyers, Daryl Forslund to do some whitetail hunting and visited with Craig a lot. Very nice bow, similar to the picture above.
Cody, if you ever get a chance to go to Hamilton you will want to visit HH archery. Craig has a bunch of old HH stuff, a quiver with a bunch of his old elephant arrows, a corner with a bunch of howards bows, 80#, 90# and more.
