Well I got my first trad bird on opening day.

no great story really, I was sitting in my blind and had some birds come in that morning about 35 yds or so and no dice. I decided to move my setup midday and after I got settled in and did a little calling this ragged dude showed up.

He only had one tail feather and a messed up foot. His skin was all green and when I cut him open he was full of puss. I don't know what was wrong but I didn't eat it for sure.

21 lbs 21 mm spurs and a 8" thick beard

Striker stinger 58" 55# @ 28
any wood bow I pick off the rack.

"His skin was green, and he was full of puss"

Chasing too many women...that was his problem.

You must have done some SWEET calling. He had gotten his share and didn`t need more.

Izzy

Id be happy with a green skinned, puss filled bird after 0 and 5 on birds the last 4 years.

Great job, but too bad you couldn't enjoy your bird further.  Sounds like you won't have any problems being successful again.

Congrats on your first.  A really unforgettable first given the unusual condition of your trophy.  Good shootin'.
