I usually dress my arrows in gucci tuxedos :-)
Its all Gary Paulsen's fault, he got me dreaming about a bent stick and string.

I agree- tastefully fancy is the way to go, lol. Really, would this picture be as nice with raw shafts?

I shoot my tradionally crested woodies to hunt deer but for groundhogs and stumping they get my plain jane autumn orange with 3 natural turkey barred feathers and a lime nock.  Or maybe a couple of old Dura Flights that I put a crest on to dress up a little.

That explains some of the seemingly random stampedes I've been in.

This is a set I just made for an up and coming Fallow deer hunt in a few weeks.
Being new to making my own arrows I made them similar to some made for me by Mr Kidner.

I don't know about fancy.  I like them to look good...arrow wraps and feather combination.  I do however, really have an appreciation for the beauty of some of the arrows I've seen.  Truly artforms, especially feather splicing.  It just looks awesome.

I hunt with the arrows that fly the best with a broadhead on them. If they happen to be "fancy" or just plain so be it. I just want the arrow to find it's mark.

Nice arrows Bjorn! I am in the process of making some footed Surewood shaft arrows. If they are flying good I'll be hunting with them.
Isaiah 49:2...he made me a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

I think most people here has enogh experience to have a nice arrow that flies good too.Everybody knows that isn't the beauty that makes the arrow to fly properly, but the archer that take care building his nice arrows is also talented to fine tune them.Once again it is a surplus, but it is gratifying for the one that care to the details.

Yes, I use fancy arrows for hunting. I use plain jane arrows for target practice as they take a whipping. The fancy ones serve a purpose as the crown dipped end being white shows what kind of blood I have. They also cheer me up when I look at them during any lul in the action.
