Back in September or October, I placed an order with Dave for a lighter set of limbs for my Schafer Silvertip take-down recurve. I'd killed ten animals with the heavy 80# (83# at my draw) bow, and decided that I wanted something a whisker lighter, as I hunt lighter game most of the time. Such a bow would enable me to stump-shoot for longer amounts of time. Back in February, I shipped my riser off back to Montana, from whence it came, and held my breath for over two weeks as the super-fast express service took its blessed time. Happily, it eventually dawdled up to Dave and Beth's doorstep. Well, much to my delight, my half-new, half-old bow arrived today.

Dying of thirst, I made a cuppa, which also served to help me take my time and savour the moment.

Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly-surprised to see a nice green tee-shirt; a good thing indeed, as my grey one is nearly worn-out! I think that nearly all of my tee-shirts these days are bowhunting-related.

The first bit of bow to venture out onto the table was my riser. It was like meeting an old friend.

And then the limbs made their way over to the kitchen bench.

Coyly they began to peek out for their first glimpse of Australia.

Soon they made their way completely-out of their cocoon.

It wasn't long before they'd worked-out how to attach themselves to the riser, and they raced outside to go hunting imaginary pigs.

Holy cow.  Those are BEAUTIFUL!

Congratulations, Ben.  I'm waiting on a box, myself!

Those limbs are awesome.

Man, that is wicked Bacote in those limbs! Enjoy shooting more   :)

Lol, and look at that smile! If it weren't for the ears, the top of your skull'd come tumbling off! ^^

Good looking limbs. Pretty stiff pig. Enjoy!

The bow is now resting peacefully on the bow rack. However, I do wonder if there will be any settling-in problems in the middle of the night. Will my heavy limbs push their weight around and heckle the younger, lighter, inexperienced limbs? Will any teasing and taunting take place? Will the battle-hardened limbs boast and brag and frighten the newbies? Or will they get along amicably?

Come on Ben! It 's too easy to shoot at that yellow spot on the black beast! Lol

Beautifull bow indeed.

Stunning lams on those limbs Ben, some of the prettiest, highly figured Bocote I've ever seen.

I think the limbs will get along fine. There may be some minor squabbling as brothers always do but both being from the same bloodline and living in the same home, they will grow to love each other and eventually take up for one another. At least that's what my wife says about our boys when they seem to be about to kill each other...   :biglaugh:

Good hunting! I always look forward to hearing tales of your exploits Down Under.
