why right wing or left wing feather is there a reason for one over the other? I know that you can't mix them

I shoot both left and right wing arrows and can't tell any difference.
The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

hunt it

It does not matter as long as stated above, don't mix. Only time it will matter is if you start playing with single bevel broadheads.

I agree to a point (and I'm not discounting ANY of the above posts, at all!).

I shoot LW for a reason.  I shoot cock feather "out".  I also use the tip of my shield cuts as "AN" anchor reference.  I like LW for this reason.  I get less (I've used the same felt rest for a yr) rest wear, this way.

FLight?  No difference.

As an aside, the RW fletch "should" see you not loosening your tips in your targets.  I mitigate this ............with PLIERS!....lol
