I am going to start shooting my custom White wolf longbow in some traditional shoots. It is 68 inches and 33 lbs @ 28 in. My draw is 29 1/ 2 so I am pulling 35 lbs. I would like to shoot woodies but am open to suggestion. Lets hear what yuo think.

don't know about wood arrows but aluminum i'd say 1716's or 1816's.

Let us know the type of bow. For an older style longbow, 35-40 spined shafts may work fine. Newer bows made of high grade materials may require a slightly stiffer spine. Hope this helps.

Stu Millers Calculator says GT 15/35s, 31,5", 100gn point, 50 gn insert, 3x4inch feathers, no footing and a regular GT nock, and it shows appx 38,1# on both stats. That is, if ya opt to go carbon instead of woodies  ;)  If woodie, 35-40# will do fine  :)  (Most likely)

(This only applies if your bow is cut to center and you use a thin hide-rest for arrows)

Check with Fletcher at the feathered shaft or look him up in the directory.

HI Don!  Longbow cut +1/8", hard string, 35 lb, 30" arrow, 100 gr point: 45 lb plus or minus a bit.

No matter what any one tells you, you will have to shoot a few different arrows with varying tip weights  until you find what works well for you with that bow.
