Thanks Tim, I'm sure "Buck Jam" is going to be just as much fun. My wife just didn't understand. "You're going to drive 900 miles, by yourself, to go somewhere you've never been, to spend a week with a bunch of people you've never met before. I don't get it." My answer "Yup".
Now the biggest thing is to figure out how I can do it again next year

I am with ya man!!  I would love to be able to make this trip one of these years.

Buck Jam is great but the success rate is a little lower!!   :banghead:

This thread has been great, congrats on your bears!, couldn't make it back to Quebec this year, have been the last two years with another outfitter, have been only bowhunter in camp both years, time to make a change, at least I have my money saved for next years Bear Quest, time to send an e-mail. I left camp yesterday, Killed my first bear on Sunday( camera broke or I would post pics, they are on the way)I just got a call from a couple of other hunters who left today and 3 more hit the ground last night bringing the total for week 2 up to 8 with one night left, and its almost Bear thirty.

David, "Hill Hunter", suffered from the dreaded "failed to communicate" with his camera card. Here's a few pic's of Dave and his bear. Since I was the "camera geek" running around camp I'm the guy with all the money shots. Super job Dave.

One tip for all you future Bear Quest guys. Like the old American Express commercial with Karl Malden says, "Don't leave home without it". Well I did and here it sits when I returned. Probably one of the most important things not to forget. An on the road cell phone conversation with David when he said "bug suit" made me say "ohh ohh", and a quick exit to a WalMart before I hit the border saved me. Looks like my son inlaw is getting a new ThermaCell for his birthday   :)

Michael,
Sounds like you guys had a Great time...some how I knew that just might happen     :D      The bugs this year were quite mild...back in the days BTC (Before Therma Cell) you had to wear a head net, tape your sleeves to your gloves, and sew up any holes in your hunting clothes.  Kids these days got it easy!  Doc

Who hunted the "blow down" stand the 2nd week? I hunted it the first week and had good action and passed up 5 different shot opportunities during the week in hope of finding a bear that would be closing in on Pope & Young . I think the best bear I was seeing was between 200 and 215 pounds but it did not seem to have all that big of a noggin.

Bob, The 3 were Zach, Larry or Greg and Paul
Chad did call me but he found my scent smoker I left and wanted to thank me for the gift.
