Your archery deer season comes in September 15th, and you can hunt small game till the end of February.  Not a bad season if you think about it, and that doesn't include the ability to hunt all year around for other game...coyotes, groundhogs.
Son, you have plenty of hunting to do.

Chris, We only have a few more weeks of small game season as well.. But its been snowing and blowing so hard I dont dare go out... But the way I look at it what the heck here in due time it will be time to hitt the back waters to do some bowfishing :-)   As well as spring  turkey hunting...

We as archer's must keep it alive by helping others into the sport WE LOVE.

And here I thought this was an prescient comment on tomorrows inevitable trouncing of the US hockey team by the Great White North!  ;-]

Trouncing?  Maybe.  Inevitable?  Maybe not.    :saywhat:    :goldtooth:

We have only had 2" of snow this year, it is 60 degrees today. Last year we had 14ft of snow...PR

Chris - if you can hunt woodchucks- then do that.

Kill 12.

Stalk a couple; wait some out- figure out their patterns-- I think the woodchuck is the most difficult animal to kill. Some might get 'stupid' for long enough to shoot- but most are one of the greatest challenges.

The how and when to draw back experience you get works for deer season etc too.

Hunting woodchucks is not time taken off your life!

right?
THE VOICES HAVEN'T BOTHERED ME SINCE I STARTED POKING THEM WITH A Q-TIP.

WOW!!! Thats a cheapshot if ive ever heard of one!!! Team USA has the "Canucks" figured out, physical play, and then wait for a mistake! Its goin to be just like watching an NHL game, only on bigger ice! I predict a close game like the first, same result! Oh yeah, found 3 rabbits in the freezer that i almost forgot about, any tasty ideas for them that i havent tried yet?

Foxtail

mnbearbaiter- I understand they're mighty fine when cooked and eaten with a bit of crow!

Foxtail

Sorry guys- just too much java this morning on top of already being stoked about the game. Apologies for shifting gears on this thread!

Chris Shelton

Foxtail-  Seriously?(about the crow?)

Woodchucks are on the way, just need to wait for the snow to melt.  And then they should be out.  Brian, they are definatly one of the hardest critters to hunt, kinda like pig hunting, except not the best meat.  But they do have a usefull thick hide, if you can get it off.  Sometimes they are just so thick that you cant.  I think it took me two years to get one with my bow.  Other than that I have killed probably about 100 through trapping and 22.  We are thick in them, lol
