Hi Andy,

Great bunch of pics. I've got a HUGE file of photos of Fred and I saw a couple here I hadn't even seen before!    :D

You may know that the 1st pic of Fred by the campfire, (which was used on the cover of the 1978 Bear catalog) was taken from a scene from the film "The Good Earth".

I actually have the ORIGINAL 8"x10" color negative of that exact picture! Here is a cropped pic of it: (it's hard to photograph):

It's a personal favorite in my collection! Thanks for bringing some great memories back for all to enjoy....

Best regards,

Guys, there are books about Fred Bear; videos of his hunts, etc.  You need to invest in the father of modern bowhunting and learn who he was.

As for his takedown bow, he didn't even make  one until he was in his late 60's, so Fred did most of his hunting with his one piece bows.

The history is out there...on the internet, and a few great books and videos.  Money spent wisely my friends.  I'm really surprised at the lack of knowledge on such an icon, with so much reference available.
