Well 38 would be a draw area for us Barney. I don't even see a General area near there.   :banghead:    :banghead:

Perhaps we could just go and sit in on some meals with Whip"o". We could always hook up as DRAG ADVISERS..We're both of sound minds (sometimes) and weak of backs (all the times)   :goldtooth:

FerretWYO

Hey Vance 37 is a general area.

And here I thought you were offering packing services!  All you can think about is what's for dinner - some things never change  :biglaugh:

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

Vance, 36 is a general area as well. Bring your hiking boots.

Mike Barrett killed most of his whopper bulls in 38.

I drew a general tag and will be hunting in the Snowys in 10 and take a year break from my AK moose quest.

May also get an antelope tag or apply for deer since I will already be down there???

Steve how do you know the famous Mike Barrett?

True most of the big bulls he has taken came from 38. I think 15 plus or minus a few consecutive pope and young bulls. That is just consecutive his trophy room has a lot more than that and the Mule Deer WOW.

I believe that that is the area that Pat Eastes has used to fill his Big Game Trophy Room, from as well.

Duffy Brown has added a few to his wall from there as well......   :bigsmyl:

FerretWYO

Duffy has taken some big bulls from there as have a few others I can think of.

I lived in Cheyenne in 1992/1993 and was a member of BOW for a handful of years.

FerretWYO

I see that would explain your knowledge of the great snowys. There is some good elk hunting over there for sure.

Pat you should show us some pictures of your bulls.

I'll be ridin on the SKIDS   for my Pat comment

Wasn't the Brown Duffy's the #1   Archery  Bull in WY

FerretWYO

Its ok Vance I may be just for asking. Duffy may be after you as well. I dont think he comes here though ha ha.

I thinking that this is Pats year to get his tag and get another big bull.

Mike Barrett is certainly the man.  As said his mule deer collection may be even more impressive than the elk.

My story goes like this, I pulled out of the draw because the guy I was going to apply with didn't think it would be a great year for him.  Well I just saw the final draw odds.  Looks like we would have drawn the unit we wanted:~(

The one time I would have drawn the tag I wanted and I pulled out, doggone it!  Looks like OTC in Idaho for me.

And yes, I believe Duffy's is still the No. 1 for the state.

FerretWYO

I think that is mule deer collection is more impresive than the elk but man I love elk.

There may be others who have done it, but Mike Barrett is the only guy I know of that has taken two mountain lions by spot and stalk with his recurve. And he has more huge mulies than should be allowed. The guy is a killing machine. His wife Susan is no slouch, either.
Randy, I have never killed an elk bigger than a 5 point. They are my nemesis. Maybe this will be my year.

Pat's popularity in the Traditional Elk world just soared New Heights   :bigsmyl:

Nate Fikkert

I was going to mention that about the mountain lions but, well that is almost so unbelievable I was just going to leave that out.  BUT, since you brought it up!

The guy is a machine.

Vance, I have missed more big elk than lots of people have seen. They certainly have my number!   :banghead:
