Interceptor Broadhead

Any of you guys shoot the Simmons 190gr Interceptor broadheads? I use to shoot some of the Landsharks way back when but never tried the Interceptor model and have become a big fan of 1.5"+ cut two blades this last season. I ordered a pack of these Interceptors to check out and 6 of the Centaur Big Game broadheads also.

I was very impressed with the Centaur head.  They out penetrated the 160 snuffer in a Rinehart target every shot.  Sharpness of the heads were not equal though.

I like the looks of the Centaur Big Game Head and for sharpening I broke down and ordered one of the Paper grinder wheels from Aboywer everyone says they get your heads really sharp really fast I will see first hand very soon.

I shoot the simmonssafaris they shoot like darts with my axis arrows.I have 100grain insert and the head weighs 205grains.Have a 560gr arrow.Good medicine for whitetails.

I've taken at large number of animals with the 190 gr. Interceptors, mostly whitetails and bear.  They are GREAT heads.

I received some 190 interceptors at the end of bow season and they flew perfectly. I killed a doe with them the last day of bow season and got a complete pass through and she may have went 40 yards before piling up. I am very happy with them.

Interceptors are great I killed my first trad. buck with them. A less than perfect shot that went through the brisket he bled out in a short distance. They worked great I didn't. I have fixed that problem (with me) I hope.LCH

Killed a few deer and a bunch of hogs with them.  They zip through hogs like a hot knife through butter.

I have used them along with all the big simmons heads.Good big cuts that don't need a lot of bow to get through deer and hogs.

Simmons is back up and working, he has a non-vented interceptor that looks good. Check it out he has Tiger Sharks also.LCH

I love the Simmons Interseptors. The Safari model was an awesome head as well... I'm just not really into $10 apiece broadheads. They've always been pricey but sheesh!

I just ordered some from Dave (new owner) and they actually seem sharper out of the pac than the old ones.

I have some of the new heads and think they're even better quality than the old ones...the bevel grind is flatter so they're quicker and easier to sharpen. I got the single bevel Tiger Sharks  
They'll be going with me, along with a bunch of Zwickeys, to south Texas in March to try to take some hogs and javelina  :D

I have taken a lot of animals with them including a big Eland ,but I strongly prefer the glue-on heads opposed to the screw -ins . The glue-ons have a much longer ferral on them which I believe makes them stronger . The screw-ins have a much bigger flat head with a much shorter ferral . I have been playing around with some carbon arrows and have the glue-on heads mounted onto screw in inserts and they work fine , just my opinion , Fred

Thanks for all the good info. When I walked in the door from work last night there were a package of the Simmons and Six of the Centaur Big game heads there also. Wow both heads look really nice I am going to have to give them some pratice shooting to see how they fly later this week.

I agree Grayfox. I use the glue-ons instead of the screw-ins because they are stronger.The orginal intercepter will not be legal in many states.We can't use them here as they are considered a barbed head.The newer vented one works great however and is legal.
