Was thinking the other day of stuff you can use for duel purposes.
I'm thinking of trying to use a bow heat box as a jerky maker?? Don't think I ever heard of anyone else ever doing it??? But I bet it will work and make lots at one time with afew racks...Might put a small fan on it and up the watts???
Anyone else have anything you would like to try but ain't got to yet??

I used my bow oven to make jerky several years back.  Worked fine just be sure and put something down to catch the drippings.  One benefit was smelled great the next few times I fired it up to make a bow.

Anyone ever tried to use a spoon to make a Broadhead. Heard a guy on a video talk real breifly about him making some?? Think it would be kinda kool to try.

Pretty much everything that I would say "Hey ya'll watch this" before I did it.

I've hammered out a spoon to make a decorative broadhead. Worked pretty good and I get a kick out of telling people it used to be a spoon.
One thing I want to try but haven't yet: I want to fletch an arrow with mixed left and right wing feathers. I want to see if it will make the arrow shoot in a horizontal arc. It wouldn't be any good for accuracy but it'd be funny as hell to do it in front of a bunch of other archers at a shoot and then start asking for advice on fixing a poor release.

Now that made me laugh, I love stuff like that.

The very thought of using spoons for broadheads makes the back of my neck sting...lol I'm having a flashback!!! I can't remember how old I was but I do remember what it felt like to be slapped on the back of my neck when my mom happened upon me making my broadheads out of her long handled teaspoons..lol

My dad's reaction was to tell mom she shouldn't be so mad, that I was being creative. My mom's reply to him was to stay out of it and reminded him he wasn't ever happy when I got creative with his tools..lol

Actually it is snowy outside, and I have been curious about this for a while, I am going to cut three feathers to make a arrow, but I want to cut them backwards    :scared:    I dont know why, but I dont think anyone has ever done it before, could be the ultimate flu flu?

You guys know the sound of the terradactyl on Jurassic park!  That is what they sound like, lol.  Check them out, they are cool.  I am afraid to try shooting them without my winter glove on my bow hand, as the quills feel like they will leave a nasty cut in my hand when I shoot it!

Chris,

Mounting three 5.5 inch full length feathers "backwards" has been a old time flu-flu trick.  And you are right that it makes a great "shorter flight" flu-flu since it really brings them down faster.  I like them because they are great for shooting at things no more than 25 yards away before they start to dive.
Keep flinging those shafts!

Raminshooter- do you know if it will cut my hand up???  It is pretty cool, I have been experimenting with weird stuff lately, I made my first 6 fletching arrow the other day, just with regular feathers in hope that I could use it to shoot squirrels up in trees instead of flu flu's.  I might try a 8 fletching arrow next???

When we were kids I used to make broadheads by folding bottle caps over on a dowel rod.  We shot them out of sapling bows.
