Gozhawk on the Top, the riser is shorter and narrower:

phil_des_bois

And the limb width, way narrower and the Gozhawk, I really prefer that :

cacciatore

Yes,probably you are right Phil, foe hunt those wary sanglier(wild boar)the short and lightest is the best choice. The average shot is 10yds in thick brush and thorns.Sometime you have to belly crawl on they tiny tunnels, pushing the bow ahead of you.

You're right Felix, the short one has killed a wild boar.

Mi amico,

The meals and wine and guiding will be just fine. I always have room on the bow rack,LOL.

Sounds like the wild boar in Italy are as hard to hunt as the ones here on Guam in the thick jungle, it gets scary sometimes crawling in those tunnels especailly when you have a pig coming from the other direction,LOL. Yes, has happened to me, thankfully the pig decided to turn around instead of charge me.

This is my 1994,Montana Falcon, still with dacron string. The riser is Fanny because Dick made a patchwork on it gluing some different pieces of wood. The wood is a brasilian Rosewood a left over of who know; I asked for such rare wood in the riser and he probably found only small pieces, but it came out good anyway. The limbs are stained red elm with western rattle. Taking the pics today i have seen the skins are going to come off.Any ad to hoe to fix it?

Felix,

Not sure if those skins can be saved but I bet if you contact Bob Morrison he could tell you for sure and if they cannot be fixed I know he could put some new skins on them, he is the best at applying snakeskins. Nice bow.

Thanks Danny. For my experience wild boar don't charge you really since they don't have hounds on their back,in this case they become very nasty, quite few hunters are been killed by charging boars. They usually cut the femoral, nothing anybody can do in those circumstances.

Felix that will be awesome! This trip just keeps getting better. Now I'm gonna have to figure out where the money is going to come from after the trip and hope theres a used Lefty up!

cacciatore

Al focus on the hunt, the hunter is the key for success not the bow.

Yves, your twins are outstanding!I love the Ebony and with that Bocote is a great combo. You told me to love the one piece and I agreed, but look at the proportions of the TD,incredible. For us poor travellers is almost mandatory to carry these kind of bows.

Thomas, you have too many bows.  Send a bunch too me so I can make sure they are getting the proper workout they need!

Milk River Stickman

Felix-  gorgeous bows!  Dick's bows are arguably the best made today.  And a real trad soul at heart.  Love seeing pics of those bows, thanks for sharing.
