Buckeye Trad Hunter

My 3 year old son Tristan after getting his trophy and medal after the OSTA state shoot.

He was so excited when they were given to him he just held the plaque above his head and said "I won daddy I won!"
Here is another of him while he was out target shooting with dad right after he turned 2.

Here's my oldest, just turned 8. She is starting to like shooting her bow and her and her little sister really liked "helping" skin our deer this year. Wish my form looked that good.  :D

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

19 yr old John with a trophy.

Both boys have had stickbows in their hands since before they were 3. Both were offered the chance to bowhunt deer at an earlier age if they wanted to shoot a compound. Both declined without any urging from me...I just wanted them to hunt with me, regardless of equipment choice.

Because of their choices and the incredible support for youth amongst the trad community, my journey has been blessed and enhanced.

Take your kids hunting, shooting, wherever!

I posted these last summer on a different thread. This is 4 year old Josh shooting his osage self bow in the back yard. The bow was crafted by Loyd Lippert, the arrows by some fine fellow I met at MoJam 2 years ago, and I can claim credit for the "arm guard".  I think his mom is responsible for those shorts he's wearing!    ;)

Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

I've posted these so much that the pixels are wearing thin...  Good for one more go-round, though.

Here's my son, Joe, and his twin sister, Emma.  Curtis might get a call soon about his father and son hunt in March.    :campfire:

This is one of my favorite threads for sure. Brings a smile to my face. Inspiring to say the least.
