i will soon be getting a 55# @ 27 hopefully will be waiting on the front door any day now i plan on shooting either a 250 ce or 55/75 gt aroow lengh 28.5 or 29" would like total arrow wieght to be 550-600 with around 20% foc was wondering if the wieght needed to achive this foc would weaken the shafts to much or if i would still be ok with shaft sizes stated above thoughts ideas?  Thanx for all the help   :campfire:

depends on the cut to center but I would say you should be fine.

250 CX have a spine of .373 they your looking st putting 250 to 300 gr on the front they should be fine and give great penetration.

The CX is a little stiffer.  It will also get you the extra weight.  I would go with that one.  That way if you end up a little weak you can drop your point weight a little bit more and still have the weight you want with the extra shaft weight of the CX.  Of course you can also build out your side plate with the GT's if they get a little weak with the point weight you want.

I use a CX 150 with a Grizzly 190 BH for my hunting arrows. My arrow weight is 668 grains total with 28.5 for the length. I shoot them from my recurves ranging from 48-51 lbs and they fly well from my 60 lb R/D longbow. Just what works for me.

cacciatore

Don't be too firm on arrow lenght.Choose the weight point you want and them start to cut the bare shaft since you get the good flight. With CE 250 you can do the job.
