Timber Ghost looks outstanding for the winter woods (at least where I live).  Gray wool really blends.

I have the Longhunter with Hood in grey and like it alot.  With any luck my wife is cooperating and I will have some Asbell wool for Christmas!

Just spent three days of hunting in 14-24 degree weather.  I layer with technical fibers under Ron's Grey pull-over.  Down right perfect for sitting in a stand or ground.  Actually my layers are too warm if walking too much...

I will also put in a vote for G-Fred's as the plaids are awsome.

I too use Swanndri.  Mine is a Ranger shirt, 1/4 zip, very nice.  I like plaids.  I plan to try one of the Asbell's someday.

I have a Swanndri Ranger also. The weave is pretty loose on mine and the wind whips right through. I'm about to try one of Asbell's.

I want some from each one of them. I showed the wife ron's stuff and show my mom the G Fred stuff. I think they got the idea and I hope to have some for xmas! The more I use wool the more I like it and not just for hunting either,,,I have been known to put it under the outside layer of my work carharts. I stay nice and warm all day.

I have one of Teresa's older style pull overs and it is great! I do have my eye on one of those hooded ones though.

I ordered the Asbell pullover vest on Saturday night and it was at my door today. Excellent turn around time. It's everything I thought it was going to be and fits me great. I love having a hood on a vest. It isn't a real heavyweight wool though, which is fine since I'll be using it as a layer. I can't wait to wear it in action!

Got a hooded vest as well from Asbell.
Teresa does a fine job indeed. I am 5'11" AND 275, and the XXL has room for a layer underneath.

Going to order another shirt as well.

AkDan, The Native Alaskan tribes have used "pullover" parkas for hundreds of years.

As for zippers and buttons, they are great too but.....

1) They need "nimble" fingers to make work in the cold.(something of a rareity in REALLY cold climates like Alaska)

2) Bottons(oops!!! buttons) are great for ventilating when you get overheated, however they also provide openings that allow heat to escape.

3) A "frozen" zipper is a "locked" zipper!!!!! Essentialy turning your zipper parka into a "pullover" (and possibly a "deathtrap" if it becomes wet and you can't get it off because it's to snug fitting to pull over your head)

I'm look'n at G. Freds, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.One way to decide is to get them both in my size, try them and sell the one you don't like to me...lol!!!! Oh by the way thats XL and I like plaid, any color!

Has anyone tried the wool from Two Tracks Bow Co.
They make a hand warmer that I would like to know a little about before ordering?

BowHuntingFool
