Tire on my lawn plugger, in one side, out the other. First shot with a longbow...ever. No shelf, missed the hay bale, tire made a loud HISS when the air left ......wife fell on the ground laughing!

I was in the yard shooting at a round ball target.  I love how it helps me with small game.  Anyways, The arrow bounced off the ball and hit my truck.  I made a hole in the center of the "O" in Dakota.  My husband was real thrilled with me:)

Many holes in moms shed (compound) and a few holes in my garage wall, also shot a stuffed little dog that had been set down infront of the target(neck shot and I just pushed the stuffing back into the hole) a few spare tail lights from my step sons jeep and a wax ring for the toilet. Talk about pulling a shot and bad release. I say it was the beer! not that I drink and shoot though

I don't know....somewhere down the street I heard a "bang" like metal, ...and then a "crash" like broken glass.
I went in the house and didn't shoot in the backyard for a couple of weeks.

Ha man where do I start....
My boat tire, side of the garage times 10 thats just in the last year or so. But when I was a kid me and a buddy of mine were out slinging arrows with a coupel old fiberglass recurves in his yard and he decided to take a luck shot telling me "Hey see that basketball.. (it was about 60 yards away and we both knew he wouldnt hit it) well he draws back and lets fly... perfect... one less basketball... one more butt whippin... for both of us... his dad was watching and after commending Wes on the shot he commenced to whippin.. needless to say we always shot at stuff we didnt want to ruin nomatter how far it was off after that... its been 15 years and he still holds that shot over my head.. well that one and a bluejay..... but thats another story..

I figured that an obsticle between me and my target would make it more of a challenge, all those clothes hangin on the line looked good, plenty of stuff to shoot thru and around I thought.
First shot would be between that pair of socks I thought, upon the release I saw one of the socks flip over the clothes line, I shot a hole thru the toe, second shot split the clothes line, I figured this would be a good time to quit.
It's a twang thang, some people git it, some people dont.

Good morning Tod,
Thanks for picking up on the "boat tire" and posting. It's only a little after 6am here and you've already made my day!

Holy crap. I guess... instincts take over.

I was bareshafting one time and made a poor decision to shoot at a bank towards the house...Good news is that I found out the arrow was stiff...bad news is so did the gutter on the house.

I had an arrow deflect off the target and right through the front tire of my lawn tractor

when I was in high school we had some feral dogs running the neighborhood. They would get into the trash on 'garbage day' and make a heck of a mess.
I love dogs; but I was the one that had to clean up the mess; so I took an arrow with a field point on it; and put a rubber blunt over it.
Next time the dogs came in; I made a perfect shot on the ugliest dog in the group.
The rubber blunt however did not stop the field point; and the dog took off with the arrow hanging out screaming like crazy.
Naturally there was snow on the ground; I found my arrow and snapped it in two and put it in my jacket; and told the neighbors a car had hit the dog.
Tracked it right to the dog den under an abandoned barn...

OOPS. Don't have to miss to hit: something  you didn't want too....

I was helping my father in law bare shaft one time in the basement, we can get about 20 yds at his place. WE had set a a beautiful back stop and had a Block target set up right in the middle.

Now, we had been shooting for a while and his arrow flight was looking pretty good. He goes to draw, anchors and I see him flinch and the arrow is off! As it snakes through the air, the side of the arrow hits the top of the target
as it turns to head back towards us it catches the top of his card table and flies straight up into the big fluroscent light, pops both of the bulbs and the basement goes dark.

I found it to be quite amusing, him, not so much!

Killed an 800# cow just this year.  She kept getting out and crapping all over the driveway and concrete. So I starting shooting her with a blunt when I'd catch her in the yard just to put the fear in her. Well I walked out of the garage on my way to the stand and there she was again. Reached in my quiver real fast and took out the blunt and sank it to the fletching right behind the shoulder at 30 yds! My heart sank to my shoes...I grabbed the wrong arrow!

My barn door when I missed a woodchuck.  BUT, it was safe shot.  I knew the barn door would catch the arrow if I missed!!!!!

about 22 years ago I lived in town and was shooting with a release aid cause I severed my hand in a log splitter and was shooting a bow with training wheels...Well as I lifted my bow arm during the draw I accidently hit the trigger cause I had "No Feeling in my fingers" due to severing them...As I watched the arrow fly over several house's I Prayed no one was out in thier yards at that time and always wondered if someones roof got an arrow in it...I drove down the road to look in the backyards and roof tops and waited to hear if the fire wistle blew...Everything seemed clear for the day...Next few days I watched the Obitchoarries "not sure I spelt that word right" for any local people who may have suddenly passed away...Talk about a scared person for several days...I will never shoot in an area with so many house's around again...
