How important is the nock release and what affect will it have on an arrows flight if it is too tight or too lite?

Don Stokes

Too light- no problem in performance, but I tend to drop arrows from my stand if they're too loose and my attention wanders (frequently!). Too tight will make the bow louder and can mess up arrow flight. It should fit snugly but pop off with a slight push from behind for best results.

I like and prefer a light snap,I serve my strings to fit my nocks for that.

Smallwood

too tight and your accuracy/bow noise  is affected, too loose and you run the risk of a dry fire when it falls off as your about to shoot.
you should be able to nock an arrow on the string and it stays clipped on without falling off, but it should not be so tight that while holding the arrow, it will pick your bow up by the string and support the full mass weight of the bow.

Thanks, guys for the response, i just needed to hear from someone. I had bought a new string and the serving was 0.013 larger in daimeter than the old string that came with this used bow that i bought. Made some adjustments to my nocks and i'm seeing the arrow flight i had proir to the news string. thanks again, Hookster

I have several bows that i shoot all the time and one of the servings is to big for my nocks and i shoot high everytime with that bow.
