Jessica started shooting with me this summer and decided she wanted to try hunting.  Last night she took the first shot at anything other than a straw bale and connected for first deer ever.  I am so proud I cannot stand it.  I was 50yds away and almost jumped out of my tree when I got the text.  35lbs Bear Panda semi-recurve, xx75 and Wensel Woodsman.

Well I removed the portion of spine she hit and threw it in the crock pot for a few hours.  Turns out the Woodsman went between two vertabrae and we were probably a little lucky?  Just not sure how that little bow would have performed if it hit the spine squarely???  I have the bones drying and they will be added to the trophy case so I will get a pick of them with the broadhead posted soon.  I have no doubt she would get good pen on the cage but hitting solid bone may be a little much.  Can't wait until she double lungs one.

Wow! Tell her congratulations! How often does that happen?!!

Don't get any better than that!! Love her camo.

Bobby Urban

Yea - she may need some camo but it did not seem to slow her down.  This morning she said she keeps feeling like Tristen from Ledgends of the Fall when he sent the letter back from Africa that said, "Stab, I have become a hunter"!  Dang I am proud of my wife - I just don't know if I will be more excited until we have children doing this!  Thank you everyone for the congrats
