Good job Bill! I'm still working on getting one in the freezer. Glad to see a post from you...It's an honor considering the quality of your bows.  :notworthy:

Wish I had something to report, but the bucks have split up and it's tough right now.  Seen a few small bucks but none of the big bucks I saw earlier in the season.  I'm be out most of the weekend...except for Sunday afternoon...have to watch my Packers beat the Browns.

Where did you all go? This time it was on page 3. Now I know we are in the Oct. lull right now. But at least keep chatting for my sake.  :bigsmyl:
What was I thinking, you are not posting because your out hunting! Good job Ohioians, I'll keep the fire burning at the cabin for ya. Good Luck!!!

No October lull here! I was out the other night hunting in some oaks and a doe offered me clean shots several times at about 23-24 yards. I'm not comfortable shooting that far, so I let her pass. I also had deer feeding on acorns to my left in a bunch of brush for about an hour. They never gave me a shot, just stayed in the brush. I saw 7 deer total Tuesday night, but had to pass on the only shot opportunities I was given. It was still fun!

Had a nice past weekend. Hunted on Fri and seen 4 doe/fawns and then on Sunday afternoon seen 14 doe/fawns, no bucks. But did find a real nice scrape and other buck sign in the area. Hope to connect this weekend.

I was hunting on the ground just using a blowdown as a blind. On Sunday, 6 of the 14 deer ended up bedding in a thicket behind me know more than 10-15yrds away!  :readit:    :bigsmyl:       They stayed for over an hour before moving out into the uncut cornfield. It was so thick I had no shot.    I guess woodsmoke dose make for good cover scent! I hang my hunting gear in the Tipi to take on the smell of campfire smoke. I have found that deer don't seem to mind the smell, if anything they seem more curious.

Good luck!

This one ought to get you all going. Me and Ben found this on a regular rubbing tree this morning. Ben checked these trees yesterday and it wasn't hit.
Can you say the big boys are getting ready?    :bigsmyl:   Go get em all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw two more does tonight, but they busted me getting into the woods. I had some more deer come in and mill around in the really thick stuff beside me. I could hear them, but not quite see them. It was fun knowing they were there at about 25-30 yards and not getting busted. One ran past just after last shooting light, but no deal. It is just a matter of time...hopefully!

I am expecting a new bow in the mail any day. Maybe it will change my luck from good to great! This season started out terrible, but sure has gotten better every day!

The woods are starting to come to life,There are rubs and scrapes everywhere. But most of the activity is still at night .When the ghost and goblins come out the deer will be on their feet IM PUMPED.

Nice doe, Morgan, and I like your bible quote too!

My son and I are headed to Cinci in several weeks for a 3 day weekend.  Gonna see The Ferret while there, and hunt the old farm where lots of memories were made when I lived there....
