In 1968, a climbing tree stand was introduced by a company in Georga.  It retailed for $29.95, and was guaranteed.  Of course, they didn't say what they guaranteed.  8^).

What was the name of the stand that was introduced?   Winner gets a prize of my choice; vintage of course 8^))))).

I'll check back now and then until Thursday night.  I'll be going to Forksville, Pa., for the Pa. Bowhunter's Festival over the weekend so won't be near any 'puters.

I think it was Dan Quillian's Deer Hunter's Dream stand. He later had a really great stand I still hunt from called the Fox Squirrel, very much ahead of it's time, first stand I ever saw with a flexible band that hugged the tree (rest of 'em had v- bars)

The Fox squirrel stand! I am that old! They still have the P.A. Bowhunter's Festival, George? And yes, it was made by Baker. I had one too!

I have a picture of John Shulz and Jerry Hill at the shoot in the '80s! Bowhunter Magazine use to have a full page add, and I remember Stacy shootin asprins with a longbow, before his Zipper recurve days! Life was simple and good, Steve.

Joel, as your were typing, Dang gum Dial-up! Good shootin, Steve

You may find this hard to believe, but no one has guessed the name of the stand yet.  I didn't ask for the company name....the stand had a name.
Keep going, I'll check back occasionally to see if anyone has called it.

joebewan

wasnt it called the squirrel

I think that it was called the "Bushwacker" by Baker. I recall that they came down sometimes on their own while leaving you holding on to the tree for dear life.

Nope.  Almost makes you want to swear, eh?        :coffee:
