Bow Only NC Piedmont
« on: September 05, 2009, 04:20:00 PM »
Looked at a property today. Landowner wants a "Bow Only" group to lease and manage his land. Piedmont NC between Pittsboro and Siler City short drive off 64.

I showed him my silvertips, a jacknife gn flatbow and a tomohawk my daughter hunts with - the folks were diggin that big time!

I like the way it is laid out - good mix of cover and habitat. Loaded with deer - and as you piedmont guys know - any deer left to grow in Chatham County will go 140's - this property is hidden - and inside of other surrounding farm, pasture, hardwoods, ponds and pine sections.
Loaded with Turkeys - these will also be "bow only"

We are only allowing 3 members - which is half the number of hunters most clubs would start with on 300 acres in NC. ATV's are not allowed. Game comes out on a wheel cart.
I know everyone already has their fall plans laid out - I do too - but this property is worth scrambling for.

email me if you can use one of these memberships - I will help you if possible.
Thanks and Good Hunting<><

Dude! You have got a goldmine if that spot is in Chatham County!  Some of the biggest deer killed in NC come from Chatham.

You have got yourself a prime piece of land. I have hunted Chatham several times. Loads of turkeys and of course monster whitetails for NC!

Man I haven't hunted that area since 1975! There weren't many deer there then :-(

Too far for me now! Good luck Cory.

Biggie - you are right - and there were not a lot of deer when I arrived. They are THICK now. Nice ones too - this area is represented well every year at the dixie deer classic. Lots of them poached though - we are going todo it different - hunt in daylight with bows!!!!!!!!!

Reminder Gang - this is a Bow Only lease - probably only suitable for a dedicated bowhunter.

I used to live in Creedmore up the road from there.  If I was still there, I'd look you up.

My folks still live in Franklin Co, not far from Louisburg.  I'm headed that way next week to hunt on the farm.  I am looking for one of those 140's that are NE of Raleigh!

4 to 5 hours from Richmond I believe - we have one guy 3 hours away - the closest is one hour - plcae will not get hammered - quality will be there.

On our hog lease our ALL our members live 5 hours or more.

If you can hunt it ONE full week it is a bargain - then any weeekend hunts and turkey hunts are gravy.

Timing is terrible - but we gotta jump on this one.

Terry OK to pull this Thread -- Thanks Much
