Tell us about your bow kill partner.  That smile has a story behind it.

Nice fat doe there, should be a good story
Steve.

It was a great hunt that took place last year in Nebraska. I went with my best friend, Joe Ashton.
We spent about nine days hunting river bottoms for whitetails.
This was actually the second doe I took on this trip! I shot the first one two days before this one.
I was using a 55#@26" 58"shrew with 2018 aluminums and woodsman heads.
Both deer dropped within sight. And both from the same tree!
Oh, and Joe shot an AWSOME 9 point buck while on this trip too! Maybe I can get him to post a pic of it on here.

Adam, i'm definitely gonna try that this week.

Here is a pic of the first doe I shot-

and the second one-

Great deer and great pictures!  :clapper:  What is more challenging than taking the ultimate survivalist...a matriarch doe with traditional equipment? Nothing!   :D

I have 5 children at the house, so these two sure came in handy putting some meat on the table this winter.
I really enjoy the taste of whitetails,
muledeer I don't really care for, it just tastes different to me.
Elk is my favorite.

Hey Andy,
good to hear from you.
The new Widow longbow is really great, I like it a lot.

I'm looking forward to this season, I'm going to try my luck with antelope first, then we'll see about elk.

Joe Ashton, did you not see that buck bedded in the weeds right behind you? Ha.
I gotta ask....what nationality is a name like Smallwood? Gotta be Native American. Maybe we better not go there... :>)
 Way to go Sammy!

Marty

Gene, you mean kinda like 2 dogs..........!

Smallwood

Gene, it's actually English!
Maybe if I was native american, I would be a little more stealthy instead of more like Elmer Fudd!    :archer:

Nice Gene! I just squirted coffee out of my nose. Great deer guys.
