For those that uses fletch tape how long do you wait before applying another feather?.....stabow

I don't. I pull the tape, slap on the feather remove the clamp, rub the length of the fletch and start over.

One right after the other, you can knock out a dozen in about an hour.

I love using that tape.  But just like the others said, if that arrow goes through the grass or through the target the fletching would be gone so put a dab of glue front and back.

With a decent "eye", can be even faster without using a jig. Just eyeball it, lay it down and make sure you run a thumbnail or the back of a knife to ensure a good set between shaft, tape and feather.
Without geometry, life is pointless.

I use the tape exclusively now, it is so fast. I have heard it cannot be used for vanes so i am hoping to hear somebody refute that. I want to fletch up some arrows for wet weather bear hunt with vanes.

I love it.Got so tired of waiting on glue to dry.Whoever came up with this stuff was a genius.Like most of you i stick and roll on with em then dab the front with insert quickset glue.Only advise is don't leave your arrows in a hot vehicle with the windows up cause they can move around on your shaft.Wasapt, use AAE quickset on your vanes and it is just as fast as the tape.Rough up your shaft a little first with steel wool then wipe it off with a clean rag and fletch away, you can't pull em off once they dry.

I've got to be doing something wrong. I tried the tape on my Heritage arrows and the feather do not stay on. I'm using Gateway 5" feathers and have had nothing but problems, went back to glue. I see this thread and figure I've gotta be screwing it up somewhere!

What are you guys cleaning your arrows with?? Does the tape stick better to wraps??

Thanks!

Perfect, I'm in the process of ordering wraps from him over the past couple days! I'll give it another go with the tape, one last time. I tell ya the tape does make my feather tracers go on rather easily.

I dont even know what it would be like to use glue and multiple clamps. Never tried it, dont imagine I ever would. One clamp, fletch tape, and a coffee table... A dozen arrows fletched in less time than it takes to watch King of the Hill. Before you know it your doing it by feel and not even looking at your hands.

Oh and, the feathers on my first dozen from five years ago are still solid as ever. Even after being shot through some bad stuff.

The coolest thing is that as tough as this stuff is, it is also easier to strip feathers and refletch than glue.

Amen on stripping them off, just warm it up with a hairdryer and they peel right off.I use steel wool or fine sand paper to rough up my shafts then wipe them off before fletching.
