Awwwww What a blast!!!

I have to say a HUGE thank you to Don, Sky & Conan for taking me out. We had so much fun it ought to be illegal!  :biglaugh:
It's so cool being able to get close to the wildlife too, we were well within 5 yards of beaver, muskrat, blue Heron & racoons. Along with BILLIONS of hatching mayfly (I'm still spittin' 'em out!)

If anyone's interested, the catfish was B-E-A-yootiful! Lightly seasoned with Lowrys & lemon juice, rolled in flour then shallow fried. The carp, despite opinions on the contrary, was delicious  :D  Lots of bones, but very subtly flavoured & very reminiscent of trout! Next time, however, it'll be made into fishcakes to avoid the bones!

My father-in-law is adept at preparing buffalo and carp.  It is his favorite fish.  He scores the fish flesh with a sharp knife about every 3/8" cutting through the small bones, rolls the cut fish in cornmeal and fries in lard.  Open kettle over a hot bed of coals.  Oil is so hot it is smokin.  The high heat seems to dissolve the bones.  I was a skeptic but now know the truth.  Buffalo and Carp are pretty good fare prepared in the right way.

Cool outing, guys!  Reed and I are jealous.  I am going to quit messing around and rig up the lights I bought for my dad's boat and get after them.  Keep posting the pics.

I can't wait to get back over there in Sept..
Hunting was hazardous, but at least it guaranteed the freedom of the individual.

There is no doubt that the onset of farming saw the end of leasure for the majority of people, who were destined to toil in the fields.

I think that is awesome.  I just really wanted to say thanks for all the pictures it really is neat to be able to share like this.
