i love the simplicity and style of Hill bows, so i'm looking to build one.

i would love to see some photos of your hill bows. any model, any angle. up close or out in the field. some measurement of limb thickness, width, riser size, and anything else you want to add.

so if you have any pics of your hill floating around your PC i'd love to see them.

thanks

You need to check out the Howard Hill Longbowmen web site, especially the "Showcase" page.   dozens of fine Hills shown.   here's a link:

http://www.howardhilllongbowmen.com/

I began making bows last winter, Hill styles and flatbows, and I just finished making my best Hill style yet.   Here's a link to the bows I've made.  The newest one is "Out of the Closet"... Relax... it's named that because it's made out of cedar closet lining...  :^)

Nothing like building your own bows... but it'll ruin you.  I've got a wall full of fine bows I don't shoot any more.

I've got 5 myself. Really like the way they shoot and handle. Not the greatest shot of it but, here's me shooting my latest one. It is a Half Breed. 69" and 45# @ 29"

If you take a little time and good attitude and get to know your Hill style, they do shoot... this is Out of the Closet, my home made "Cheetah", at 30 yards.   Couldn't get juniper, so I used cedar, core is two lamboos.  66" and 38@28.  Smoothest bow I think I've had yet.

I ended up selling the Hill just because it was a little too heavy for me, the Schulz is going nowhere.

otis.drum...     Happy to share dimensions.  however, at the moment I'm nursing an out of place vertebrae and movement is limited.   Usually worst in the morning.  If I can, I'll get downstairs today because I have a Hill lefty to ship and am starting to feel guilty because I haven't gotten to it.  I'll get measurements then and hopefully post them this afternoon.

Ok - here's another of my Halfbreed in action on a very cold day.  Wool is our buddy.

TSP

Nice bows.

I remember when wood arrows were what went with most longbows, especially with Hills (like ham and eggs).  Seems they're a rarity these days.

Benny Nganabbarru

TSP, I shoot wood arrows from my Hill longbow.
