Not wanting to hijack the myrlte riser thread - I was wondering how myrtle works as a limb wood.  If it is heavy enough for a riser, is it too heavy for limb laminations or should it be used only as verneers?

Rick-  It will work for risers, laminations, or veneers.  It is similar to walnut for core laminations.  It can hold a lot of moisture.  Be sure to clamp wood veneers and lams between 2 thicker pieces of wood after slicing them for at least a week.  This will let any excess moisture escape, and let the lams dry flat.  JD
